Reine Fishing Village

One of Norway’s most photographed destinations.

An arctic paradise

Reine in Lofoten is probably one of the most spectacular places you will ever visit. This fishing village consists of a chain of islands, linked by bridges and winding roads, with Vestfjord on one side, and Reinefjord with its high mountains on the other.

This small fishing village is the municipal center for Moskenes municipality in Lofoten. Today there are approx. 300 people who live here, and the Lofoten fishery plays a particularly important role. The primary industry is fish reception and fish processing as well as some mechanical industry.

In the last couple of years, Reine has become a favorite among travelers. The Fisherman’s cabins is beautifully situated on the islands, and offers a scenic “taste” of traditional northern Norwegian culture. Here you can experience arctic weather in winter and crystal clear water in summer.
