Discover Lofoten from the sea
Sailing gives you a different view of Lofoten. As we cross Vestfjorden, the mountains of the Lofoten Wall rise from the horizon, with small islands, sheltered bays and fishing villages appearing as we get closer.
The boat gives us the freedom to explore along the way. We can anchor for a hike, stop for a swim, try our luck fishing or continue sailing when the conditions are good.
Lofoten through the seasons
Every season brings a different experience.
Winter means snow-covered mountains, short days and changing Arctic light. In spring, Ski & Sail combines sailing with ski touring from sea to summit. Summer brings long days under the midnight sun, with hiking, fishing, swimming and plenty of time outdoors. In autumn, the islands become quieter and the northern lights return to the night sky.
Life by the sea
Lofoten’s history and culture are closely connected to the ocean. Fishing has shaped the islands and their communities for generations, and it is still very much part of everyday life.
Sailing through the archipelago takes us close to this coastal culture, passing fishing villages, small harbours and racks of drying stockfish along the way.
Sailing with SeilNorge
You don’t need previous sailing experience to join. Our skippers take care of the sailing, but everyone is welcome to get involved – take the helm, help hoist the sails and learn along the way.
Depending on the trip and season, we combine sailing with hiking, skiing, fishing, swimming and exploring ashore.
