Sail from Lofoten to the Mainland – A Journey Across the Sea
For centuries, the sea has been the only route to and from Lofoten—and the most spectacular one. Aboard our modern sailboats, we carry on this tradition, ensuring a safe and scenic journey from Lofoten to Bodø. Along the way, we experience small islands, towering mountains, and remote fjords that can only be reached by boat.
This trip is a shorter version of our popular Lofoten sailing adventures, but it’s packed with the biggest highlights. We begin by exploring Henningsvær, where the vibrant atmosphere and iconic fish-drying racks set the tone for the adventure. Sailing further south, we reach Nusfjord, one of Norway’s best-preserved fishing villages, where we stretch our legs and soak in its historic charm.
In Reine, perhaps the most stunning view of the journey awaits. For those up for a challenge, a hike to Reinebringen offers a panoramic view of Lofoten that you’ll never forget. After a good night’s sleep and a hearty breakfast, we prepare for the crossing of Vestfjorden—an open sea voyage where the wind gives us one last taste of adventure.
With good conditions, we’ll reach Bodø before nightfall. If the weather gods decide to challenge us, we’ll take an alternative route along the mainland, ensuring a safe and beautiful ending to the journey.
As with all our trips, you will be part of the crew. You’ll learn to sail, challenge yourself, and return home with unforgettable memories, newfound skills, and friends for life.
