In awe-inspiring surroundings, between spectacular mountains and the Norwegian Sea, lie the beaches of Haukland and Uttakleiv. Norwegians themselves voted Haukland the most beautiful place in the country, and British newspaper The Times chose Uttakleiv as the Most Romantic Beach in Europe!
A 5 kilometre (3 mile) hike along the old road around the headland connects the two, with views encompassing the beaches, the open sea, the village of Uttakleiv, and the mountains beyond. Indulge in a hot drink and a snack by the roaring flames of the fire. And since it’s dark enough to view the northern lights from September to April, you will have the chance to see them playing over the ocean, and glittering on the snow-capped peaks to the sound of the waves rolling gently onto the shore.
