At Thon Hotel Svolvær, you’re in for a comfortable stay. All our rooms are furnished with modern design, exquisite details, and colors that uplift your mood. The hotel has a total of 211 guest rooms and suites, including three ice tower suites of about 50 m² with spectacular views of the Vestfjord. Unique Dining Experiences – Both Inside and Out
At Thon Hotel Svolvær, we take great pride in flavors and full-bodied taste experiences. Therefore, on the quayside, you’ll find a large outdoor seating area with a big wood-fired pizza oven. The quayside area is spacious and a perfect spot for those who want to enjoy food or drinks outdoors – surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful nature. Inside, you’ll find our restaurant, Brasseriet – a modern restaurant where you can enjoy seasonal small and medium-sized dishes. The restaurant features several open kitchens to enhance interaction between our chefs and guests, as well as two Chambre Séparées for parties up to 40 guests. In the restaurant, chefs operate a Japanese Robatagrill, where they prepare exciting dishes like whole roasted Lofoten lamb, cod, salmon, and veal over live flames. The restaurant also has a specially designed Josper grill, a charcoal-fired, enclosed grill oven from Spain. Our chefs closely collaborate with local suppliers and choose only the finest quality ingredients. Sustainability and locally sourced food are very important to us, which is why we have our own rooftop garden. The goal is for at least 50% of all mini-greens to be self-sufficient within two years.
For those who appreciate baked goods, we also have our own organic bakery to supply both Thon Hotel Svolvær and Thon Hotel Lofoten with baked items – whether you’re craving pastries inspired by Italian, French, German, Danish, or Norwegian baking traditions.
Courses and Conferences at Thon Hotel Svolvær
In addition to being a new and stylish design hotel, Thon Hotel Svolvær boasts a large, bright, and airy event hall with adaptable solutions for various events. The hall can function as one large room or two smaller independent rooms. With a ceiling height of nine meters at its highest point, seven-meter-high windows, and the best in lighting, sound, AV, and stage installations, the main hall is suitable for everything from parties and kick-offs, to concerts, fairs, exhibitions, and other small and large events. The hall is used as a fish receiving area during the World Cod Fishing Championship, with room for 50 tons of cod.
Own Filleting Room / Fish Processing Facility
A central part of Lofotfishing has always been the many small and large fish processing facilities in Lofoten. After a long day at sea, this is where fishermen gathered to receive the vital settlement for the day’s catch. Here the fish was hoisted ashore, weighed, and then taken into the fish processing facility for further processing.
As the first hotel in Norway, Thon Hotel Svolvær has created its own filleting room/fish processing facility. Together with our hosts, you’ll have the opportunity to fish your own fish, and learn how to fillet and fillet the day’s catch in our filleting room. The fish can either be vacuum-packed, frozen, and taken home, or you can participate in a cooking course and prepare your own fish.
Floating Dock with Sauna
At the very end of the quay, you’ll find a floating dock with a large and beautiful sauna: Lyst Lofoten Sauna Svolvær. The sauna boasts a unique location with views over the main entrance to the city, and a beautiful seascape as far as the eye can see. The sauna will be equipped with a shower and changing room. With its own access to a diving board and stairs down into the water, you’re free to cool off whenever you wish.
