Intimately located and well-shielded from traffic, Solsiden Brygger offers 26 high-standard fisherman’s cabin apartments. The wharf is charmingly situated among active fishing facilities. Solsiden Brygge also rents out fisherman’s cabins from the 1800s. The cabins are of high standard and beautifully located in Bertelvika (about 5 min from Solsiden Brygge).

Ballstad is in Vestvågøy municipality, which is in the middle of Lofoten. This makes Ballstad a great starting point for day trips westward to Å in Lofoten (70 km). Or if one wishes to drive eastward, it’s just about an hour’s drive to Svolvær, (81 km).
Ballstad has likely been a fishing village for as much as 1000 years and is the largest fishing village in Lofoten. In the middle of the fishing village, you’ll find us. Here you stay in the heart of it all with the salty life of Lofoten right outside and a view of the largest fish processing facility, which produces 4500 tons of cod a year.
We offer accommodation in traditional fisherman’s cabins, which were previously used as lodgings for traveling fishermen from all over the country during the annual Lofoten Fishery. The oldest cabins date back to 1890.
Even today, Lofoten is associated with the Lofoten fishery, which takes place from January to April. Most of our 22 fisherman’s cabins have been thoroughly restored and adapted to the needs of tourists from all over the world.
We offer courses and conferences and organized adventure tours. We can arrange sightseeing in Lofoten, fishing trips with the boat Sira, diving, surfing, mountain, biking, skiing, rafting, and kayaking tours, and more.
There is wireless internet throughout the facility.
