ASTRA Village & Whale is located directly by the sea in Kabelvåg, surrounded by Lofoten’s distinctive mountains, ocean, and living coastal heritage. We offer accommodation with character, ranging from historic fisherman’s cabins to guest rooms and spacious apartments, just a few minutes’ walk from the centre of Kabelvåg and a short drive from Svolvær.
At ASTRA Village, you stay in traditional fisherman’s cabins that have been upgraded with modern comforts. The cabins feature private kitchens, bathrooms, and comfortable living areas, and several of the units offer beautiful views of the sea and mountains. They are well suited to couples, families, and groups of friends who want to stay together and enjoy plenty of space during their visit.
ASTRA Whale is located nearby and offers a more affordable option for guests looking for a social and informal base in Lofoten. Guests can choose between simple double rooms with shared kitchen and bathroom facilities or spacious apartments with private facilities. This makes ASTRA a suitable choice for everyone from solo travellers and couples to families and smaller groups.
We do not have our own restaurant, but breakfast boxes containing high-quality local ingredients can be ordered for an additional charge and delivered to your door each morning. All our guests are also within easy reach of restaurants, cafés, and shops in Kabelvåg and Svolvær.
Through our partnership with XXLofoten, we can help guests book a wide range of activities and nature experiences. Depending on the season, these may include sea eagle safaris, fishing trips, kayaking, mountain hikes, Northern Lights experiences, and other guided activities. We are happy to help create a programme of experiences suited to each individual guest or group.
At ASTRA, you stay close to nature and have an excellent base for exploring the whole of Lofoten. Experience the Midnight Sun in summer, the Northern Lights during the winter months, vibrant fishing villages, spectacular mountains, and some of Norway’s most beautiful coastal scenery – or simply enjoy peaceful days by the waterfront.
