From Svolvær town to Henningsvær village
Start your sightseeing day from Svolvær. Your first stop is Henningsvær, where you can explore (self-guided) the cosy fishing village. Hop in one of many handcraft shops, such as candle makers, glass blowing, knitting textiles, local food stores, and so much more. After your visit, hop back on the bus, driving on Lofotens National Scenic Route to Nusfjord, a UNESCO candidate-listed village, hidden away from the main road.
Guided visit to Nusfjord
Upon your arrival, head to Landhandleriet in the center of the small village. A traditional fish soup awaits you. Experience the Arctic taste. After your lunch, your guide will pick you up for a 1-hour guided walk in the village.
Explore the galleries and the rorbua
Although people actually live in Nusfjord, you have the freedom to walk and explore the art studio, the quay, and the rorbua. A tip: end your visit to Nusfjord with a warm waffle with marmalade and traditional Norwegian ‘brown cheese’ in the Landhandleriet. The old general store dates back to 1907 and has kept its original interior, taking you back in time the moment you enter.
