The Norwegian travel industry has named Lofoten Norway’s best tourist destination (Grand Travel Award 2023)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Grand Travel Award, organized by TravelNews.no<\/a>, is the Norwegan travel industry’s “Oscar Awards”. Here, the industry itself chooses a number of winners in various categories for the previous year. This year, Lofoten won “tourist destination of the year”. The other nominees were Troms\u00f8, Oslo, Bergen and \u00c5ndalsnes.<\/p>\n\n\n

Other recognitions in Lofoten<\/h2>\n\n\n

The winner of the “2022 Sustainability Award” went to Thon Hotel Lofoten<\/a> and Thon Hotel Svolv\u00e6r<\/a>. The prize is awarded by HSMAI Norway.<\/p>\n\n\n

HSMAI Norway<\/a> is the Norwegian branch of the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International. A global organization for sales and marketing executives, representing all parts of the travel industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thon Hotel Lofoten and Thon Hotel Svolv\u00e6r distinguish themselves by showing efforts over a long period of time with clear goals, a variety of initiatives and future-oriented sustainable operations. Highlighted initiatives, which provides inspiration to others, are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
