About

Enjoy Lofoten’s coastline while flying across the fjords onboard a high-speed RIB boat. After the RIB tour, you will get to stretch your legs on an easy hike to the remote Kvalvika beach, one of the most spectacular places Lofoten has to offer.

On this tour, we want to take you to one of the most stunning places around the Lofoten islands. Located in an isolated bay on the northern side of Moskenesøy island and only reachable by foot, the remote Kvalvika beach feels like it could be at the edge of the world. Turquoise waves crashing on the sand and steep rock faces rise into the clouds. The most iconic of them is Ryten, at a height of 550 meters.

The excitement starts in Hamnøy harbour where you meet the guide, who will provide you with floatation suits to keep you warm and safe. Then it is time to buckle up in the RIB boat and enjoy the Lofoten coastline while flying across the fjords at a speed of up to 45 knots. Along the route from Hamnøy to Fredvang, you will get fantastic views of the mountains, fjords, and fishing villages nestled along the shores. Chances are you will see some spectacular wildlife such as the white-tailed eagles. We dock the boat at Lydersen Rorbuer, located in the small fishing and farming village of Fredvang.

Being one of Lofoten’s most famous hikes, walking to Kvalvika Beach is a visual joy. The beginning of the trail goes through the birch forest and can be muddy in certain areas, but as we approach the pass between mountains, the path will get noticeably rockier. Once you start hiking down towards the beach, you’ll be rewarded with an incredible view of Kvalvika’s turquoise waters and white sandy beach.

At the beach, there is plenty of time for strolling along the sandy coastline, taking pictures, or simply breathing in and absorbing the stunning surroundings. You can even take a little swim and wash the salt away with the mountain water that comes down to the beach. Then, we gather for a light picnic with warm drinks before heading back to Fredvang to the RIB boat.

This moderate hike is also suitable for families with kids who enjoy hiking in the mountains.
